Program Schedule

We accept children ages 2-1/2 (completely potty-trained) to 11 years old.

The Center is open from 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

No child can be at the center for longer than a regular work day.

  • Labor Day

  • Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after

  • Christmas Day

  • New Years Day

  • Easter Week (for spring vacation)

  • Memorial Day and

  • 4th of July

Regarding school age children, the weekly fee will remain the same when they are with us for 1/2 day or 1 full day. For 2 or more days in the same week, the fee will increase to full time amount.

The program at NBBC Child Care Center provides periods of independent play, child directed group activities, teacher directed group activities and individual instruction with emphasis on preparing your child for kindergarten and grade school. The classes include learning centers of housekeeping/dress-up, art, blocks, quiet play, music, table activities and books and puzzles.

At nominal fees, the children at the Center will be able to attend a variety of outside activities and field trips throughout the year at the Richmond Theater Comapny, the Richmond Children's Museum, the Virginia State Fair, skating, movies and many other experiences to enhance their learning. All of these opportunities will make the Center and interesting and active place for a young child where his/her curiosity and imagination may be stimulated.

Finally, we end our year with a pre-school graduation in which children are adorned in graduation caps and gowns and share with parents, family and friends what they have learned.
